Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

A guidance for authors

1. The journal Scientific Bulletin: Civil Protection and Fire Safety includes scientific articles that are relevant to its thematic scope.

2. Submission of articles is only through the website of the publication.

3. Scientific articles submitted for publication in the journal must contain the results of their own original research by the author (s), be of scientific and practical importance and not be published before. The journal also publishes completed results of thesis research.

4. Only scientific articles that have the necessary elements are accepted:
formulation of the problem in general and its relation to important scientific or practical tasks;
an analysis of the latest research and publications in which the problem is solved and which the author relies on;
highlighting unrelated parts of the general problem addressed by the article;
formulation of research objectives (formulation of the task);
presentation of the main research material with full justification of the scientific results;
conclusions from this research and prospects for further exploration in this area.

5. Volume of the article - 5-10 full pages of text in A4 size (20000-25000 p.), together with annotation, tables, figures, graphs and bibliography. If the article contains significant scientific results, the volume of the article may be increased by the decision of the editorial board.

6. The name, place of work and any contact information of the authors should not be indicated in the article. This information is provided in the article's metadata and in the author statement that is attached to the article as a separate file.

7. The text of the article should be prepared in a Microsoft Word text editor (preferably Microsoft Office 2016) :
on A4 sheets (210 x 297 mm);
Times New Roman font, 12 pt;
at a single interval;
with paragraph - 1 cm;
with margins: left - 2.5 cm, right - 1.5 cm, upper - 2.3 cm and lower - 2.0 cm;
with footers: upper - 1.2 cm, lower - 1.2 cm;
without page numbering.
8. The figures should be clear (no more than 17 x 17 cm). Color printing is possible if necessary.
9. Formulas must be prepared using the built-in Formula Editor of Microsoft Equation.
10. Abbreviations and notations of physical quantities must comply with applicable international standards. The alphabets included in the formula should be deciphered with units of measurement.
For numerical data, except for known values, reference should be made to the source.
11. Formula numbering is end-to-end (the number is indicated in parentheses at the right border of the text). Formulas are separated from the text by blank lines at the top and bottom.
12. Tables and figures are separated from the main text by blank lines.
13. The captions under the figures and the table titles are in accordance with DSTU 3008-2015 Documentation. Reports in the sphere of science and technology.
14. The article is presented in the following order:
rubric UDC (near the left border of the text in a separate line);
through the line - the title of the article (CAPITAL LETTERS, BOLD, ON CENTER);
through the line - an abstract in the language of the article (the recommended volume - no more than 500 characters), which contains the characteristics of the main topic, the description of the object, the purpose of the work and its results, as well as information about the scientific novelty of the materials presented in the article (printed in the center, single interval, Times New Roman font, 10 pt);
through the line – keywords;

through the line – article title in English (CAPITAL LETTERS, BOLD, ON CENTER);
through the line – abstract article in english;
through the line – keywords in english;

Each non-English publication is accompanied by an abstract of at least 1800 characters in the English language, including keywords (without spaces);
if the article is not Ukrainian, the publication is additionally accompanied by an abstract of at least 1800 characters in the Ukrainian language, including keywords (without spaces);

through 2 lines – the main text of the article (single spacing, Times New Roman font, 12 pt);
through line after text – a list of references (the phrase "REFERENCES" is written in BOLD CAPITAL LETTERS in the center);
the cited literature should be in the form of a common citation list.
In the text, references to the literature are indicated by the ordinal number in square brackets. Listed literature is in the original language. 14. Attached is a copyright file in Ukrainian, English:
the surname, name and patronymic of the author (authors) of the article, their scientific degree and academic rank;
place of work of the authors of the article;
article title, abstract, and keywords;

Listed are: addresses for correspondence, e-mail;
work (subscriber) and mobile phone numbers.
