Ensuring the safety of people in buildings is a priority task of civil protection. One of the key components of this is maintaining the operability of fire protection systems (hereinafter referred to as FPS). Unfortunately, in Ukraine there are no approved rules for the operation and maintenance of such systems, which leads to their low efficiency.
The work, which is a completed scientific study, provides a solution to a topical scientific problem regarding the justification of requirements for the procedure for maintaining the operational suitability (maintenance) of fire protection systems to ensure their operability, which became the theoretical basis for the development of the “Rules for Maintaining the Operational Suitability (Maintenance) of Fire Protection Systems of Buildings, Buildings, Structures and Their Parts”.
The results of the study are of important scientific and technical importance, as they generalize the experience of foreign countries (USA, Germany, Scandinavia) with strict service standards, and also offer specific solutions for Ukrainian realities. The developed Rules will become the basis for regulating the process of servicing fire protection systems, which will allow business entities to more effectively maintain systems in working condition. This, in turn, will contribute to reducing the risks of human death, material damage and the overall level of fire danger in the country.
