Abstract

Given the need to comply with the basic requirements set out in the Regulations for Construction Products (CPR), it is important to develop a procedure for assessing the conformity of fire protection renderings intended for coating used for fire protection of steel-based building structures. The article presents the main indicators of the quality of these renderings, which are the reaction to fire, fire resistance and reliability, which are subject to assessment for compliance with the basic requirement of CPR "Safety in case of fire". It is shown that the peculiarity of the reliability test is the presence of a procedure for comparing the results obtained using samples, some of which are subjected to artificial exposure under given exposure conditions (environment), which correspond to the category of use, and the second are control samples. The indicators used to assess reliability are adhesion (strength of adhesion to the steel surface), thermal insulation and the results of visual observations. During these tests, steel plates with nominal dimensions of 500 mm × 500 mm and a thickness of at least 5 mm are used. It is established that depending on the category of use of rendering can be assessed for compliance with other basic requirements of CPR on such indicators as content, release and (or) release of hazardous substances; vapor permeability; mechanical strength and stability; impact and shear resistance; air noise protection; sound absorption; shock noise protection; thermal conductivity. During production control, the density of dry mortar, freshly prepared mortar and mortar that has hardened must be checked; duration of setting and viability of freshly prepared mortar; adhesion and heat-insulating ability of the mortar which has hardened. The adhesion of the rendering must be checked at the place of fire protection works. Methods of testing and checking the quality of renderings intended for fire protection of steel-based building structures are determined.
