CREATION OF TEST EQUIPMENT FOR DETERMINING THE BEHAVIOR OF FLOOR COATINGS DURING COMBUSTION BY USING THERMAL RADIATION SOURCE

Abstract

The relevance of tests on determining the behavior of floor coverings during combustion by using a source of thermal radiation to create prerequisites for increasing the level of fire safety of construction sites in Ukraine is shown. The expediency of introducing the European fire classification in Ukraine regarding the reaction to the fire of floor coverings has been confirmed. For the first time in Ukraine, at the level of European approaches, the working design documentation of test equipment was developed to determine the behavior of floor coverings during combustion using a heat radiation source. Its technical characteristics are defined. The parameters of the burner for igniting the specimen, the radiation panel, and the system for measuring the optical density of smoke have been substantiated and experimentally confirmed. The technical characteristics of the created test equipment allow testing of all types of floor coverings. The measuring equipment necessary for conducting tests is given. The procedure for calibrating test equipment, the procedure for conducting tests, and the requirements for evaluating test results are given. For the verification of test equipment have been prepared materials, the results of which will certify the main parameters, technical characteristics, and valid values ​​of standardized metrological indicators guaranteed by the developer and manufacturer of the test equipment for testing floor coverings during combustion by using a source of thermal radiation in accordance with the requirements and methodology specified in State standard of Ukraine EN ISO 9239-1:2022.
